Everything people usually ask before their first trade.
Scratch my back is a marketplace where people trade help instead of money. You post an offer, something you can do for someone else, and say what you’d like in return. Others browse the offers and reach out when one fits, then you help each other.
Yes. Joining is free, and no money changes hands between members: you pay for help by helping back. The free plan covers up to 5 offers and 10 reach-outs a month. Paid plans lift those limits for people who trade a lot.
See plans →Post what you can do and what you’d like back, or browse the list and send a request on an offer that fits. When the other person accepts, you both get each other’s contact details and do your parts. Afterwards you rate each other, so reliable people rise to the top.
How it works →Anything useful you can actually do: getting people to try your app, honest feedback, introductions to clients or investors, design, marketing, legal, accounting, hiring help, a spot in a newsletter, and more. Founders, freelancers, agencies and creators all use it.
Browse categories →Most people have more to offer than they think: an audience, a network, honest feedback on a product, testing an app, a review of a service you genuinely used, or an introduction to someone you know. You can also post an offer that’s open to whatever the other person needs.
Every profile shows a track record: star ratings from past trades, how many referrals landed, and a success rate. Members can also be verified. Start with small trades and check the ratings before a bigger one.
Yes. Private mode hides your name and photo on the public list. People see who you are only once you contact them or accept their request.
Only for honest ones. You can ask people to genuinely try your app or service and leave their real opinion. Never make a favour depend on a positive rating: Apple, Google and most review sites ban incentivised or fake reviews and can remove your listing for it.
Read the guide →Sign up with your Google account, then set up a short profile: what you do, where you’re based and your links. It takes about a minute.
Get started →Anywhere. Everything happens online, and members come from many countries. Offers show the person’s city so you can find local help too.
Rate the person honestly after the trade. Ratings and comments are public on their profile, so people who don’t follow through lose trust quickly.
Fiverr and Upwork are paid freelance marketplaces: you pay money for a job. On Scratch my back you pay with your own help instead, which suits founders and small teams with more skills than budget.
